The National Geographic International Photo contest for 2008 is open for submissions with more than 30 countries eligible to participate. The contest will be judged in three categories — People, Places and Nature — and three international grand-prize winders will be announced in December. Submissions are open until October 31, 2008, 11:59:00 p.m. U.S. Eastern Time.
For non-english speaking participating countries, please look here for local sites linking to the contest.
Winning entries from each territory will be featured in local editions of National Geographic magazine. First-place category winners of the English-language-edition competition will win a digital SLR camera kit.
The international grand-prize winners will receive a trip to National Geographic headquarters, and their winning entries will be published in the English-language and other editions of National Geographic magazine.
