Lou Mora is a commercial photographer located in Southern Califonia [represented by Wonderful Machine] with nice and fresh images that feel real. The series that caught most my attention is a collection of head-shots showed at his Personal Portfolio. These are close portraits of people that form a very cohesive series, images that convey a feel of personal introspection. The diffuse look of the pictures with a surrounding of colored lights is very nice and defines the uniqueness of the images.
With my photography I tend to always want to move in close and really capture who it is that I am shooting. My work doesn’t involve a lot of retouching or manipulation because I like to keep things looking as real as possible. The look of my personal work is all done in camera. With that said, I am trying to capture moments that we all have where we are just taking a moment for ourselves during the day. I’d like to make the viewer think… What’s this person thinking about? How did he do this? Why the colors and orbs of light? It’s a sort of etherial and/or surreal moment that is caught. At least that’s where it starts for me… if I can get the viewer to pause and think for just a second, the image is a success for me.-Lou Mora

Astounding work! His portraits remind me of a song by famed Indian lyricist Moubli Hishi- “Gotui maw- lindi verha”.
“When i cut the sadness from your face, the colors spill out like rainbows” or something like that.
Truly inspiring.
