Being Original by Photographing the Impossible

In times when one would think that any subject in photography has been explored, we find the work of Li Wei, a Beijing-based artist-photographer, whose theme is to photograph impossible scenes [he is the primary subject]. By creating these pictures, without the help of photoshop, his work is strikingly original.

This is staged photography pushed to the edge, a kind of acrobatics and performance mixed with photo-reality to create scenes that break the common sense and are truly unexpected. Although some images look to me “cheese” others are quite interesting [surprising]. You can see some videos on how the images were staged here [my guess is that at least some cloning out of the ropes may involve photoshop].
