“Cinemascapes”, the visual fascination of Aaron Hobson

Few months ago I had the opportunity to learn about the work of Aaron Hobson, an emerging photographer from upstate New York that in just few years has defined a distinct style and is making significant inroads in the fine art market. His work is quite unique in that combines the perspective of panoramic photography with well staged compositions where he is his own subject. The panoramic perspective makes difficult to display the images in this post, so please take a look at website or at this Chinese online magazine.

The images are both dense with information, and easy to visualize. The perfect balance between the elements in the scenery and the subject is so well crafted that the focal point of attention becomes the whole picture itself. Quite a unique achievement.

The lighting, the shadows, the color palette, create the texture for multiple elements so well staged that life emerges from the pictures. So real and so surreal. So immediate, so personal and at the same time so fictional.

A self-taught designer and self-taught photographer, Aaron's work conveys the emotional impact of realities that don't exist and fascinates the viewer with images that raise curiosity and wonder about the subject and the landscape.

Aaron Hobson had his first solo exhibition last November in New York City at the Ivi Brown Gallery and starting in February 16th untill March 16th he will be exhibiting in London at the Tenderpixel gallery. More information about the artist can be found here.
