“Africa” an special issue by Vanity Fair

For the first time in history, a magazine publishes a series of photographs to illustrate distinct covers of the same issue. Twenty different July covers of Vanity Fair shot by Annie Leibovitz depict major world leaders and celebrities meeting one another in support of Africa, and passing the message to each other in a photographic sequence.
Not only this is in itself an impressive feat for a magazine, but it is also a first for Annie Leibovitz, as the subjects were shot at different times and locations posing in ways to allow for the photo-compositions of the images that illustrate the covers. You can see a video of the photo shoot here.
Such and original idea could come from no other than the great Bono. Listen to Bono speak about the issue here and explaining the purpose of the special issue in the introductory letter.
